Warrior
To Citizen
Our service men and women are performing a great, self-sacrificing service for all of us and others around the world.
In addition to their personal sacrifice, is that of
their family. The
stress, the trauma and the wounds of violent conflict carry
wide spread, long term effects.
While the National Guard has laid a foundation to
assist returning vets to reintegrate back to civilian life
through their Beyond
the Yellow Ribbon program, their work requires the
community involvement in order to fully heal the wounds
incurred by our service members and their families.
In both
Bloomington
and
Burnsville
, I continue to work with citizens to provide a support
network that will be that continuing source of strength,
support and healing. All
citizens are called upon to start or participate in the
Warrior to Citizen program on behalf of our veterans and their
families.
My office,
the city offices of
Burnsville
and Savage, Bloomington National Guard Armory, and the County
Veteran Service Office are all reference points to learn how
to become more engaged in assisting our veterans and their
families.
